The debate around remote work and productivity has been in the spotlight lately, especially after Eric Schmidt, Google’s former CEO, suggested that flexible working had hampered the company’s performance. Needless to say, I’m so grateful that Kasada’s take on flexibility is very different.

Last year, I was both blessed—and, depending on the day, a little overwhelmed—when my family grew by two. Our twins, Luca and Luna joined our lives, and with them came an incredible adventure. While the initial months were challenging, Kasada’s support made all the difference. Their understanding and flexibility were essential not only in those early days but also later when we planned to travel to the other side of the world (Italy) to introduce our twins to our big Italian family.

This wasn’t just about visiting relatives. My entire family, including my brothers and their families, came together for a vacation in Sicily. Spending time with everyone under one roof, sharing meals, and making lasting memories was something I would have never been able to do with a traditional work schedule.

Thanks to Kasada’s flexible policies, I was able to work remotely for part of our seven-week trip. We scheduled a few working weeks between vacation time, allowing me to stay connected with the team without disrupting the family experience. Despite the time zone difference, we managed a half-day overlap to ensure work got done. There is no denying that waking up at 4am to be in sync with the Australian afternoon sometimes felt quite rough, however, it was nothing that a few espressos and an async standup (thanks Mobile team) couldn’t fix.

Now that we’re back in Australia, I can confidently say that the memories we made during that vacation wouldn’t have been possible without Kasada’s support. Their approach to remote work didn’t just help me stay productive—it allowed me to fully embrace precious family moments that I’ll always cherish.
